This is pretty unconventional. We'll admit it. That's why we answered some questions for you below. We'll keep updating as people ask questions, but feel free to call/text/email us with things as they come up.
We're going to Mexico City.
We've booked a trip to Mexico City to celebrate our joint birthdays (they're 3 months apart but just to be clear Jim's older). We fly in on the evening of Thursday, April 19th and leave Sunday, April 22nd.
We invited all of our friends to go too.
Imagine this. You decide to take a weekend trip somewhere fun. You show up to a bar and a bunch of people you know are randomly there at the same time. How cool would that be?! That's essentially what we're doing. Plan a fun weekend getaway the same weekend that we're planning a fun weekend getaway at the same fun getaway spot.
We are NOT planning a trip for you.
There won't be an awkward Venmo request at the end, there won't be a block of rooms reserved, there is no mandatory itinerary or tour bus.
We will, however, let you know where we're going to be.
We'll let you know if we're checking out a museum, walking around a neighborhood, eating lunch in the park, visiting a bar, seeing a show, etc. and you'll have the option to join in. Have kids that you want to bring along? Skip the bar (maybe) and come to the park. Hungover? Skip the park and come to the bar. It's your trip.
We picked Mexico City because it's central, cheap, and accessible.
In a bicoastal relationship? Meet up for the weekend in Mexico City. Flights are super cheap from most places (under $300 if you don't wait 'til the weekend before to book) and AirBnBs, hotels, and hostels are plentiful.
Bring a friend if you want. Or 4!
This is NOT an exclusive event. If you want to impress the new boyfriend with a cool fun trip, pick this weekend to do it. Got a couple homies that you want to get away with? Pick this spot. That's all we ask. Got a friend who knows us and didn't get an invite? OMG WE ARE SO SORRY WE DIDN'T MEAN TO FORGET THEM PLEASE DON'T TAKE IT PERSONALLY THEY'RE DEFINITELY INVITED.
Stay in Roma, La Condesa, or Cuauhtemoc Neighborhoods.
They're safe, walkable, hip, and central. We're at the Four Seasons because #youonlyturn30once. Pick a hotel, hostel, AirBnB, team up with friends, whatever you want.
RSVP by February 1, 2018.
We just want to have a *semi-accurate* count of how many people are coming so we know whether to meet at a huge bar or a small space. Again. February 1st.
